Photo printing !!

One of the things we see when we visit the photographers is that they have many doubts about printing.

How do I keep the file? What profile? What resolution? What print materials?

These are the most common questions that we face day to day and we will try to resolve.

One of the first things I always recommend that most photographers do, is to shoot in RAW.

Another thing we recommend is to assign Adobe RGB 1998 profile for us is the best profile when printing and in most color fidelity warranty can offer.

It is also important that the file comes to end print size. What does that mean? That if we want to print the 60 x 40 cm., The size of the image you send us should be 60 x 40 cm.

Another important aspect is the resolution: 254 dpi print size at the end is enough. There are times when large print sizes with 150 or even 72 ppi worth. Imagine a picture of 2 x 3 mt. at 254 dpi. It would be impossible to move on the computer!

Another very important tip is to print all digital printing machines and printed in CMYK are subtractive colors.

Although it may surprise that recommend bringing the files in Adobe RGB 1998 and we print in CMYK, this is possible because we work with a RIP. This is an advanced color management program that does is convert the RGB input profile in CMYK output profile. This is the best way to ensure maximum similarity between CMYK and RGB.

With these guidelines we turn to the question of material on which to print. This is one of the points where the photo paper out more photographers are lost.

To be bound by one or the other, the first thing to do is know what you want to do with that photo and see what material is most appropriate.

For one, they are all kinds of photo papers and conservation. Highly recommended for reproductions of works of art and museums.

And then there’s a whole world full of material on which to print the photos that give a different ending to the usual paper, such as white Dibond, Dibond striped, anodized aluminum, foam board, glass, wood, ceramics, …

Photographer often do not become aware of the end use of the photograph. It is used for everything. The photo is part of the image of a company; we can find photos on labels, in sheets, plates; in interior decor photography increasingly used either headboards, kitchen fronts, paintings, murals, flooring, light boxes, …

In Arga have different Digital digital printing machines and depending on the material to get.

We will try to make clear some aspects it’s good photographer knows when printed.

When printing to digital printing inks is important to know how many leads the machine and print resolution gives.

When it comes to conservation or photographic papers printing machine gives our quality resolution of 1440 dpi and features 11 ink and a printing width of 1118 mm. Undoubtedly is where higher resolution can offer.

When we speak of new printing materials such as Dibond, aluminum, foam board, wood, glass, …. is very important to consider if we are offering is a direct impression or if it is a printed vinyl stuck on them, since there is much difference between them. Good to know to keep things clear and not fall into error.

From what we are going to speak about now is direct printing on these materials, which is the most recommended.

One of the most used by photographers in their presentations for their results, the Dibond.

For those who do not know, the Dibond is a sandwich with a polyethylene core with both sides with aluminum foil, resistant to moisture and weathering.

You can play, needs no support, no frame or glass. We have the ability to place a rack in the back, so to hang the piece in the sense that “fly” on the wall. It is a material that holds both outside and inside. It is flat, strong and very light.

Our printing machine for these, cases allows us to offer maximum print resolution on the market, 1080 dpi. It has 8 inks. It enables us to offer new printing techniques such as the selective varnish that gives volume, texture and shine to the areas of the photo you want. And there is also the ability to print with white ink.

This new world of material brings to the photo textures and depths very different from the usual.

You can play with the material and the photo to get different endings. For example, the anodized aluminum Dibond or striped metallic touch that brings a particularly combined with architectural photography in black and white.

But it is true that first of all, it is best to see the photo and the photo which we will ask for one or the other.

Since starting the world of digital photography has made it look sideways printing.

If the photo is to be printed, this section should be taken into account so as lighting, exposure and processing of RAW.

We encourage photographers to know all possible shapes, textures, colors and possibilities of use so take full advantage and pass it to your photo.
